Spring Table Runner

While spring is slow to arrive outside around here this year, I finally got some touches of spring up in the house this past week. I decided it was time that I dusted off my rusty quilting skills and make a new table runner. Although I went about it in a backward way, I am very happy with the results. I found myself at a fabric store, big surprise there, purchasing the fabric before I knew what runner  I wanted to make. However after a few internet searches I found the City Windows Table Runner pattern at Moda Bake Shop. (This is a great source for all sorts of free quilting patterns. Check it out!)
While they used a charm pack to create their runner, I made it work with the four fabrics I had already purchased by adding in some white fabric I had laying around. I didn't piece the back since I hadn't used a charm pack.
The nest in the big bucket is from TJ Maxx and the bucket is from Joann Fabric. The smaller buckets are from the Target Dollar Spot (you know how much I love Target Dollar Spot!! see here, and here) The other eggs are from a multi pack from JoAnn Fabric. I am quite happy with the sun shinny effect!!
